Hindi Porke't LGBT: Open Table MCC on Political Endorsements

Bilang isang Church community at faith-based organization, hindi kami nag-e-endorso ng anumang political party kahit ang party nila ay binubuo o nagrerepresenta ng mga LGBTQIA+. Hindi rin kami nag-e-endorso ng mga indibidwal na politiko kahit sila mismo ay LGBTQIA+.

Hindi man kami nag-e-endorso, aming hinihikayat ang lahat, lalo na ang ating mga kapatid na LGBTQIA+ na maging mapanuri at matalino sa pagbigay-suporta at pakikipanalig sa sinumang partido o kandidato kahit sila pa ay LGBTQIA+. Higit pa sa pagiging LGBTQIA+ ang kwalipikasyon para maging representanteng politikal ng komunidad at movement nating mga LGBTQIA+.

Anumang political party na nagsasabing sila ay tagapagtaguyod ng karapatang pantao ngunit walang kahiya-hiyang sumusuporta sa bastos at bayolenteng presidenteng hinalintulad ang sarili kay Hitler ay napaka-problematic. Hindi sila tunay na tagapagtaguyod ng mga pinaglalaban, hindi lamang nating mga LGBTQIA+ bagkus ng pangkalahatang mamamayan.

Hindi porke't may "LGBT" sa pangalan ay awtomatikong karapatdapat suportahan. Bagama’t hindi nag-e-endorso ang Open Table MCC, aming ine-encourage ang lahat na makisangkot at makibahagi sa sociopolitical situation sa ating bansa, na ang tanging mithiin ay katarungan, pagkakapantay-pantay, at tunay na kapayapaan.
