Sometimes its between the champions of two or more rival armies. If you lose, your entire nation submit to the authority of the other nation or kingdom. No blood spilled. Also, less casualty in terms of civilians. Yun nga lang, pag natalo kayo, then the winning army will pillage your country, rape your women, kill your first born and enslave the elderly, the young and the rest of the women.
